I think I have come full circle with soap. Starting out, my idea was simply to learn how to make soap. The thought that I might have some fun and make enough for family and a few gifts. As I learned more I started to experiment with color, scent and a few different molds. Most were successful and a few gave me a story to tell. I also learned that it’s not just about making soap. You have to follow through to packaging. I started to lose the joy and it became not about the soap or me, but could I do what everyone else is doing with color, shape, etc? Finally, I learned to stay true to me with what I loved in the beginning, making a soap that I love for family and friends. That works just fine.
